What is Teen Patti?
Teen Patti (meaning "three cards" in Hindi) is India's most beloved card game, played during Diwali, Holi and family gatherings across the country. Similar to 3-card poker, it is played with a 52-card deck between 3–6 players. The goal: have the best 3-card hand and win the pot.
Popular Teen Patti Variations
- Muflis (Lowball): Hand rankings reversed — the weakest hand wins.
- AK47: Aces, Kings, 4s and 7s are all wild jokers.
- Best of Four: Each player gets 4 cards but uses only the best 3.
- Community Teen Patti: Shared community cards, similar to Texas Hold'em.
Winning Strategy
Skilled Teen Patti players win consistently by managing their blind play strategically, reading opponent bet patterns, and folding early on weak hands rather than chasing the pot. Bluffing works best when you've been playing tight and opponents respect your bets. Never bluff multiple strong players at once.
